Emily is a member of the GBR senior mix team and tells us about her experience as a reserve at European Championship 2024 in Baku.

This week has been an absolutely surreal experience, and I still can’t believe it happened!

The journey leading up to this moment has been incredible. From the selections back in March to every GBR training session and the hard work at Majestic, it all came together this week.

Being named reserve for the Senior Mixed team is something my younger self would have never imagined. I’m immensely proud of how far I’ve come in my gymnastics, overcoming fears, mental health struggles, and making significant lifestyle changes over the past year.

I could not have done this without the unwavering support from my family, my gym friends, my coaches, and this inspiring team of athletes.

A huge thank you to @staceylangley2023 who believed in me even when I couldn’t see it in myself. Everything I’ve accomplished is thanks to your guidance and encouragement, and I am forever grateful for your support.

Also, a massive shoutout to @zoecummins_ who stood by my side through every challenge and absolutely crushed it on the European stage. You are a true legend of this Euros, and I’m so proud of you, my girl! ❤️

Now it’s time to head back to the gym, where I’ll keep working hard and aim for even greater heights than I ever thought possible. I can’t wait for the season ahead and wherever this beautiful sport takes me!
